Im not 100% sure on the whole music looping thing just yet.  It most definitely doesnt work in a normal event, however KF1 has something in one of the system events that pulls it off somehow as long as youre ok with the music not changing back/forth more than once on a map.

If you were to use the shop scenario where the music changes based on an event then back again I dont think it works...someone would have to do some testing.

How does this work? I've never seen it documented. I guess it can see .mid files in the editor? I'll have to look into that, it might do a midi to wav conversion already which might make it easier to convert other audio formats into wav on the fly without adding anything too custom. Direct Sound (of that era, 7 probably) basically requires .wav data as input. Losing volume control sounds like another bug, though it indicates Direct Sound might not be used at all to play the midi bgm, which might make it more difficult or even impossible to manipulate.

Hey Todd, are the voice overs in the movies yours? It sounds good!
I always sound like a retarded pixie on the phone and recording. Hopefully I sound better in real life.

Yes they are mine lol, and I felt like I sounded like a retard!  I couldnt think of any other way to get english on those videos.

John I know you were working on a translation, likely mine has some mistakes, so if you still have your event files I would be happy to pop them in the game.

No, you sounded good- reminded me of the the narrator from KF1 (US) .

What I've seen of your translation so far seemed fine; it was actually better than the original Japanese.
In general Japanese (and especially KF) often leaves things unsaid and expects you to fill in the blanks.
Like the sign the blind Poet scratched on the wall "hands" implying "give me a hand" ie "help me"
I tried to make a literal translation in KFJ and I think it ended up being confusing more than anything.
If I had it to do over, I would keep the text's intent, but completely 'American-ize' and fill in what was said to be clear.
That seems like what you did.

On a side note, I can transfer your voice overs onto the original videos without losing any quality and end up with a much smaller file size (about 100MB less), if you care about bandwidth.

That would be fine with me, though I am doubtful I still have the original sound files for the voice over :)  If you have some magic you can use go for it.

I can transfer the audio stream off your movie and interlace it with the video from the original CG movies.

Tried to attach the reformatted movies here twice but it didn't work. Is 35mb too big for an attachment?
I'll send them through a host instead anywho.
