What item in King's Field 2 U.S. is only located via vendor purchase that is not available at the end of the game?  In other words, if you get to the castle without buying this item, you will never be able to get it in the game by any means?

Wow!  A stumper!  I don't know about this 2/5 thing unless you have some real doozies...  at least its tough.

There are only two "items" I know of that can only be bought, never found.  The Flame Rod, and Mace.  (why there aren't maces lying around everywhere, I'll never know.  It looks like a common weapon to me.)

Since I don't think anything happens to Christy (who sells the mace), I'm thinking perhaps something happens to Ed Edmund who carries the Flame Rod.  (He moves at least once that I know of) 

Actually, I'll just go ahead and lump both those two guesses in one post.

Details details, KF1 (o.g.) is probably the only game I'd stand a chance to be able to answer anything specific about right now.

But anyway, I think it's an impossibility for a vendor to go away permanently (unless you killed them) because you're supposed to always be able to buy your stuff back from vendors (GOOD THING YOU'RE THEIR ONLY CUSTOMER)

There is another buyable only item, and it does come from a merchant that dies in the story...poor poor lynn.

The reason this one is set at only 2 points is it can be researched pretty quickly, after all there is only one vendor in KF2 that doesnt make it to the end of the game!

You can keep her alive and get a special ending where she becomes queen (I remember doing it -- seriously/not in my dreams)

^EDITED: or maybe you bring her back from the dead by doing the ending where you fight Seath... not the same I guess.


PS: I wonder where the items you sold to her would go?? Same as murdering a merchant?

I didn't think Lyn sold anything that was unique.

Its been a couple years since I've played the game.  I'm really not sure.
My guesses from her were Great Helm, Silver Arms, Silver Boots - but I'm almost positive that I've gotten those elsewhere.

yes...the great helm cannot be found anywhere else in the game...very good!
