Title: decent texture help
Post by: johnnypark66 on December 27, 2009, 05:23:16 pm
Does anyone know of a package or download of 256x256 textures? I can't find good textures anywhere... I'm willing to invest some money for good ones... any ideas?

What sort of textures are you looking for?  Building?  Nature etc?

Let me know, I may have some you can use that I had dabbled with.

Hey Johnny, Here is a good royalty free site with some great 256x256 textures to play with.  I use these myself:) I mainly use them or parts of them shall I say to create my own custom textures, but these can be used all by them self if need be. Theye were created for games so the lighting and such is PERFECT for SoM. and they are also blender friendly, and blender is one the commonly used SoM tools so.............Happy Modeling

the view distance is good...i can give you a few rug objects i made if you want them?

if youre not happy with the green of the grass texture you could probably modify the bitmap associated with it a bit by taking out some of the green color then resaving the texture?

I think if you add trees and more objects it will look just fine.

Have you tried lowering the brightness to see if it assists the color?

Necro-posting.

Anyone know/able to find out about the status of Wicklow? That seemed like the highest quality project going.

I might even dig out the demo to for testing purposes.
